About Kapa Celtics FC

Kapa Celtics FC is a football club and youth development academy based in the Cape Flats, Cape Town. The area is home to a rich football culture and an extraordinary depth of young talent, much of which remains undiscovered or without access to the opportunities needed to flourish. Kapa Celtics was created to help bridge that gap by giving aspiring footballers from communities across Cape Town a place to compete, develop, and belong.

Founded by Dumisa Ngoyiyana, the club was born from a deep understanding of the Cape Flats and the challenges faced by its young people. He recognised a community filled with natural ability, creativity, and ambition—but also one in need of a structured, socially responsible football club capable of identifying talent and supporting its long-term development.

Our purpose extends beyond producing better footballers. We aim to create an environment in which young people can build confidence, discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of identity. Through quality coaching, competitive football, mentorship, and personal development, players are encouraged to take responsibility for their growth and pursue excellence both on and off the pitch.

Kapa Celtics aspires to become one of Cape Town’s most trusted community-based football academies and a respected source of talent in South African football. Our long-term ambition is to create clear pathways through which promising young players can progress to higher levels of the game while remaining grounded in the values and communities that shaped them.

Our mission is to inspire the youth of South Africa’s townships to dream beyond their limits, unlock their potential, and use their talent and creativity to help build a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities.
