Meet our Founder
Dumisa Ngqoyiyana
Dumisa Ngoyiyana is a UEFA-qualified football coach, youth development leader, and the Founder and Chairman of Kapa Celtics Football Club in South Africa. His experience spans youth and senior football in both South Africa and Ireland.
Raised in Khayelitsha on the Cape Flats, Dumisa developed a deep connection to football from an early age. His experiences as a player, coach, and passionate Orlando Pirates supporter helped shape his commitment to coaching and player development.
In 2022, he founded Kapa Celtics FC to create a fun, competitive, and structured environment in which young players could thrive. As Head Coach of the boys’ U16 team, he guided the side to a runner-up finish at Cape Town’s Best 11 Tournament and led its participation in prominent youth competitions, including the Bayhill Premier Cup and the Coca-Cola Cup.
Now based in Ireland, Dumisa is in his second year as Head of Academy at Granada FC, an FAI Club Mark football club. He leads the Foundation Phase of the club’s player-development pathway, overseeing players from U5 to U9 and preparing them for the transition from five-a-side to seven-a-side football.
His academy role also includes supporting and developing coaches to create positive, age-appropriate, and player-centred learning environments. Through careful observation, player assessment, purposeful session design, and game-based learning, he helps young footballers develop fundamental movement and technical skills, game understanding, decision-making, creativity, and confidence.
Dumisa has completed two years of a three-year Bachelor’s degree in Sport, Fitness and Coaching, strengthening his knowledge of early-years player development and fundamental football skills. Alongside his work in Ireland, he continues to manage Kapa Celtics FC remotely, providing strategic leadership and supporting the club’s ongoing growth.
His coaching philosophy combines freedom of expression with clear structure, giving players the confidence to solve problems, make decisions, and express their individual flair while developing a lasting love for the game.
